Installation

The BoD easyPrint printer driver makes it possible: your book data will simply be transferred to BoD via a print command from your running application (e.g., directly from your Word document) and automatically converted into a printable PDF file.

The upload

Simply open your manuscript in the application in which you have created it (e.g., Microsoft Word, InDesign, etc.). When generating the book layout, please note that the page format has been set to the format of the finished book.

Then click on the menu item “Print” and select BoD easyPrint as your printer.

Important: Before you start printing, set the format in “Properties”/”Advanced” in the printer driver to the format of the file you wish to convert.

If your book block contains illustrations which extend to the edge of the page, please select the format with trimming edge.

To transmit your cover file, please select “User-defined format” and enter the dimensions of your cover.

Then click on “Print”. You will now automatically be forwarded to your myBoD account. If you have logged out in the meantime, log in again with your e-mail address and your password. You will now see a list of the book projects you have started. Select the book project for which you want to start the transfer. Then select whether you want to transfer the file for the book block, your cover, or – if the project is a hardcover with dust jacket – your dust jacket. Now click on “Start upload”.

If your file could be processed successfully, the following message will appear:

You can now transfer more book files or check the print preview of the uploaded file.

If you want to replace a file you have already transferred, simply repeat the upload for the type of file in question (book block, cover, or dust jacket). The old file will be overwritten.
