Data protection
Your security is important to us
BoD principles
The security of your data is our top priority. BoD employs state-of-the-art security technologies to protect your data against unauthorized access. Please see below what we do for the security of your data.
Use of your data
We use your personal data solely for the purposes connected with your book project, e.g., to list your sales figures and for ordering all BoD services. We only use your e-mail address to send you our monthly newsletter if you have subscribed to it. If you want to unsubscribe, you can cancel your subscription at any time via a link integrated in the newsletter.
Passing on your electronic data to third parties
It is one of our principles that we treat your data strictly confidentially and not pass it on to third parties. We cooperate with service providers regarding the complete management of your book project and transfer specific data (such as name and address) to them so they can provide their service. These parties include service providers who deliver parcels, for instance. Our service providers are obligated to use the data only for the above purposes and never to pass them on to third parties.
The use of so-called cookies
Cookies are small text files which are stored on the user’s computer when he or she visits a website. These cookies contain no personal data. We want to be able to recognize you so we can offer you our special services, such as the free sending out of e-cards. This allows us to assign your respective book projects to you. To this end we leave small cookie codes on your hard drive. Therefore we ask that you allow cookies in your Internet browser while you are using BoD.de, or to cancel the cookie block. If you do not wish to use this service, you will find instructions showing you how to deactivate cookies in the Help option of your Internet browser.
The protection of your data through SSL
We employ the latest SSL safety standards on all pages of myBoD. Your data are encoded right when they are being transmitted, and stored in a protected database in encoded form.
